2010 JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS!

*Meet at the putting green near the starter shack on the front end of the driving range at the start of each session. We will then go to the session area as a group.
*Please call (281.980.4653) or sign up in person (name/phone/member #) in the golf shop so that I can plan for the number of participants. If there are less than 5 participants, the clinic will not be held. Registration ends on the Friday before scheduled clinic, at the close of the business day.
*Clinic Fee is $20 per person per session.

Learn The Language, Rules, Safety, And Etiquette Of Playing Golf

*This is an excellent class for all golfers, but especially important for junior golfers wanting to become certified by completing our junior golf certification testing required of all juniors wanting to play golf at SWCC without adult supervision.

SWEETWATER JUNIOR GOLF CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The certification program here at Sweetwater CC, is specifically designed to assist our junior golfers learn the necessary things we feel are important to playing this wonderful game we all love, especially as skill development over time improves with practice and continued instruction. A foundation of safety, etiquette, and on course expectations with an introduction to rules of the game is the curriculum for our junior golf certification. It is our goal to have the junior golfer who wishes to play unaccompanied by an adult member here at Sweetwater be certified in these important areas, demonstrating (through our certification exam) a working knowledge of this foundation. The certification exam demonstrates competency in these important areas, all to be introduced/reviewed in upcoming seminars and through ongoing programs here at Sweetwater CC. Successful completion of this program enables junior to play here at Sweetwater without an adult golf member present.
Certainly, many young and new junior golfers are not going to be prepared to complete this certification. However, in time, we feel all of our juniors have the potential to do so and become role models for other golfers (including adults!) to play this wonderful game we all love, safely, courteously, and quickly. When this happens, our juniors will be an integral part of the greatest game of all!
PLEASE NOTE:
*Successful completion of the SWCC junior golf Rules/Etiquette/Safety certification test is REQUIRED for all junior golfers under the age of 18 wanting to play unaccompanied by an adult golfing member at Sweetwater Country Club. JUNIOR GOLFERS MUST RECERTIFY EACH YEAR AND DISPLAY THEIR CERTIFIED BAG TAG ON THEIR GOLF BAG AT ALL TIMES. Junior golfers are encouraged to attend the complimentary intro to golf classes held in early Spring so that they will be better prepared to complete this test in May. Study packets from the Intro to Golf Class are available in the golf shop beginning in May for juniors who were unable to attend the rules workshops. Junior golfers will be able to take the exam by picking up a copy in the golf shop beginning Tuesday May 4th. Juniors will be given one hour to complete the test (administered on the tennis balcony area/no books or assistance allowed/on your honor) and will find out their results on the next business day, after 12:00. A list of all certified junior golfers will be posted in the golf shop and in the starter shack. Please plan accordingly…junior golfers will not be able to play unaccompanied until they have become certified. Thank you for supporting this important and valuable program!

WHAT: A special junior golf day for Pee-Wee Golfers using award winning SNAG Golf Equipment (Students do not need to bring any golf equipment).
