My name is Elizabeth Munzig Madden and I am running for a position on the Sweetwater Country Club Board of Advisors. My husband (Kevin) and I have three children, Wilson (15 y/o), Henry (9 y/o) and Caroline (8 y/o) and live in Sweetwater. We have been club members for many years and enjoy spending time with friends at club events as well as playing tennis and golf.
Originally from California, I grew up on a citrus ranch in Ojai, a small town in southern California. I went to The Thacher School, a boarding school for high school and attended Haverford College in Pennsylvania. I returned to California for medical school at Western University and completed residency and fellowship at LA County-USC Medical Center. My husband is also a physician and works at MD Anderson. Our family moved to Sugar Land 10 years ago and we have been happy to call Texas our home since. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, volunteering at my children’s schools and playing tennis. I am a member of the Sweetwater Country Club Slice Girls tennis team.
As a physician, I believe integrity and professionalism are paramount. I am a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive training in communication techniques, including facilitating group sessions and helping people to work towards their goals. During my residency and fellowship, I was chosen as Chief Resident and elected to represent fellow trainees on the board of the Southern California Psychiatric Society. With my training, I feel it will help me to be an intermediary communicating between club members and club administration. As an active member of the club, I would work to help take suggestions for improvements and find ways to make these changes possible to make the club the best it can be.
